 {t}^{2}  - 2t  + 1 \\  =  {t}^{2} - (1 + 1)t  + 1 \\  =  {t}^{2}   - t - t + 1 \\  =  t(t - 1) - 1(t - 1) \\  = (t - 1)(t - 1) \\

Now,

(t - 1) = 0 \:  \: and \:  \: (t - 1) = 0 \\ t = 1 \:  \: and \:  \: t = 1(ans)
