Table salts becomes sticky on exposure to humid air during the rainy season.Explain.

Hey folk....

Generally we think that table salt only contains NaCl but magnesium chloride I.e. MgCl2 is a common impurity present in NaCl.

What actually MgCl2 does na as MgCl2 is highly hygroscopic it absorbs moisture from air. due to the presence of MgCl2 in NaCl the latter becomes wet.

This degree of wetness only depends on content of MgCl2 , if u noticed expensive hotels , the salt is not much wet bcoz they use highly refined table salt.
