Elements:

  • Elements are pure substances.
  • They can't be divided further.
  • Examples- Oxygen, Iron etc.

Compounds:

  • Compounds are made up of two or more than two elements or molecules.
  • Compounds can be divided until they separate to elements by chemical methods.
  • Examples- Copper Sulphate, Hydrogen Sulphide etc.

Mixtures:

  • Mixtures can be made of all, solids, liquids and gases.
  • Mixtures can be divided by physical methods like filtration, sedimentation etc.
  • Example- Smoke and Fog (Smog), Dust and Water (Mud) etc.
