there are 3 states of matter
..solid, liquid and gas. solid have definite shape , volume and have high density. liquid have definite volume but no definate shape. gas have neither fixed shape or volume.

Solids :

Solids have definite shape and fixed volumes.

Liquids :

Liquids have no fixed shape but have a fixed volume.

Gases :

In the gaseous state, the particles move about randomly, at high speed and they have more space between particles.
