take a piece of thin aluminium sheet and keep it in the water in the bucket what do we observe? Now shape the same piece of aluminium into a small boat and place it on the surface of the water if float isn't it
Answers
When we drop the aluminium sheet in the water it sinks because the density of aluminium is greater than the density of water.We can make it float by decressing its density by keeping the mass constant. Prepare a boat using the aluminium sheet and place it on the water,we observe that it float on water because the bowl has large surface area and the air present in it make the bowl float. Its density decreases when it made as a bowl.
According to the question;
First incident:
Take a piece of thin aluminium sheet and keep it in the water in the bucket.
Observations:
The the aluminium sheet will be sink in the water bucket because the aluminium sheet density is greater than the water density.
Second incident:
Now shape the same piece of aluminium into a small boat and place it on the surface of the water.
Observations:
The boat will float on the water this phenomenon is same to the phenomenon of a upside down bowl floating on the water due to the bowl's void space's air pressure.
