Suspension and colloidal will show tyndall effect but true solution will not show tyndall effect because in true solution particles are too small too spread to light and hence do not show path of light

Answer: Colloidal dispersion will only show Tyndall effect.
Explanation: We are given 3 beakers having 3 different mixtures: solution, colloid and suspension.
Tyndall effect is the scattering of light by the particles in a mixture.
- Particle size in Solutions is very small, therefore no particles will be present to scatter the light, hence no Tyndall effect.
- Particle size in Colloids are of intermediate size which means that the particles are suspended in the mixture to scatter the light, hence shows Tyndall effect.
- Particle size in Suspension is large, the particles settle down and hence no particles are suspended in the mixture to scatter the light, therefore does not show Tyndall effect.
Hence, only colloidal dispersion shows Tyndall effect.
