Given : Take three coins of different denomination. Toss these coins simultaneously and there are 8 possible outcomes

To find :

1. The probability of getting 3 heads

2. The probability of getting 3 tails

3. The probability of getting one head and two tail while tossing the coin.

Solution:

Tossing 3 coins simultaneously

{ (HHH) , (HHT) , (HTH), (HTT) ,  (THH) , (THT) , (TTH), (TTT)}

n(S) = 8

n(getting 3 heads) = 1

The probability of getting 3 heads  = 1/8

n(getting 3 tails) = 1

The probability of getting 3 tails  = 1/8

n (one head and two tail) =  3

 The probability of getting one head and two tail = 3/8

Tossing 4 coins simultaneously

Total possible outcomes = 16

P(4 heads ) = 1/16

P ( 4 Tails) =  1/16
