Lachit Barphukan was general of Pratap Singha . When Mughal empire came to invade Assam , Lachit and his army fought a brave battle . The battle was also known as Battle of Soraighat . Since , it was fought it Soraighat . Lachit ordered his army to built a 'gore' at Soraighat . But when Lachiy saw that his own Uncle was sleeping instead of work. Lachit cut his head by Sword .

Thus at last in the battle , Lachit and Ahom army won over Mughal .
