we know

tan 45° = 1 and sin60° = √3/2

and cos 30 = √ 3/2

then ,

 \tan(45)  +  \cos {}^{2} (30)  -  \sin {}^{2} (60)

 = 1 + ( \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{2} ) {}^{2}   - (  \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{2} ) {}^{2}

 = 1
