Since the tank is already 3/5 filled with water, only 2/5 of the total capacity is needed to be filled

We know that to fill it we need 250 litres

Hence, 2/5th of the total capacity is 250 litres

If the total capacity of the tank is x

\frac{2}{5} *x=250\\x=250*\frac{5}{2}=625 litres

Therefore the tank has a total capacity of 625 litres
