I got 2400 pages but I'm not 100% sure
If he read 3/8 of the book so there is 5/8 left of the book. So it he read 4/5 of the remaining and 30 was left. It would be 30x8=240

I drew a rectangle and split it in to 8 smaller rectangles
I shaded three and I saw that 5 were unshaded because ofcs 8-3=5
then when it said 4/5 pages were read on the next day so I ignore the 3 shaded rectangles for now
I see 5 left and then shade in 4
the last small rectangle was the last one unshaded so I knew that it was the 30 remaining. All of the rectangles were the same so I then 30x8 to get 240
