Answer:

17/24

Explanation:

Multiply denominators as well as numerators so that they are the same.

1/38/8  and  3/83/3

1/3 now equals 8/24 and 3/8 now equals 9/24. Add up the numerators

(8+9)=17

Because 17 is a prime number, you can not simplify it so you leave it as

17/24

Tashia ate 1/3 of a pizza, and Jay ate 3/8 of the same pizza.

so
the fracton of pizza was eaten = 1/3+3/8

the LCM of 3 and 8 is 24

multiply both the numerator and the denominator of the fraction 1/3 with 8 .then we get 8/24

multiply both the numerator and the denominator of the fraction 3/8 with 3 .then we get 9/24.

now add them,

we get ,

(8/24)+(9/24)

they are like fractions ,so add their numerators,

(8+9)/24

=17/24

now we cannot simplify it,so leave it as 17/24

therefore 17/24 fraction of pizza was eaten.

hope u like it.
