❥Savitribai Phule (3 January 1831 – 10 March 1897) was an Indian social reformer, educationalist, and poet from Maharashtra. She is regarded as the first female teacher of India. Along with her husband, Jyotirao Phule, she played an important and vital role in improving women's rights in India.
❥She was born in Naigaon village in the Satara district of Maharashtra in a family of farmers. Savitribai Phule was married to her husband Jyotirao Phule at the tender age of 9 who was 13 during that time. She set up India's first women's school from different castes in Bhidewada, Pune along with her husband.
❥Savitribai Phule played an important role in fighting for women's rights in India during British rule and is described as “one of the first-generation modern Indian feminists”. Savitribai Jyotirao Phule was a social reformer and a poet.
