Acrocentric- J shaped. these are rod shaped chromosome with a subterminal centromere. In acrocentric chromosomes, 1 arm is a very long and the other is very short.
Metacentric- V shaped. these are V shaped chromosome in which centromere lies in the middle of chromosome so that the two arms for almost equal.
Submetacentric- L shaped. These are L shaped chromosome with centromere slightly away from the midpoint so that the two arms are unequal.
Telocentric- I shaped. These are rod shaped chromosome with Centromere occupying a terminal position so that they possess only one arm.
