Tell easy way to understand periodic table.

Well, thus is a very big question. I suggest that see the group of the element and it's period. period determines the number of orbits and group, the no. of valence electrons. if u are able to draw the atomic structure it would be better for u. but I am afraid , there are no shortcuts.
