IntroductionPsychology is a science that has application in everyday life, but we use it unconsciously. This means that when we use its principles, we do so without knowing that we are using one of the principles of this intricate science. Only the people who have studied the subject in detail know about the principles of the subject. However, this subject is of utmost importance as it has practical uses in our everyday lives. The following are some of the practical uses of thisscience in everyday life:

*.Get motivated
*.Improve leadership skills
*.Communicate better
*.Learn to understand others better
*.Make more accurate decisions
*.Improve your memory
*.Make wiser financial decisions
*.Get better grades in studies

Ways in which psychology is used in our daily livesPsychology is a branch of science that is useful inmany facets of our daily lives. The following are the ways in which psychology is being used in our lives:
*.Pursuing us to purchase consumer products through advertising

uses psychology to persuade its customers to purchase the product being advertised. The advert tries to make you laugh or cry, thus eliciting an emotional response from youand then asks you to send an SMS message to a number or send some money to a particular account. Due to the emotional influence, the advert has on you; you go ahead and send the message or the funds, without thinking again.

*.Listening to a friend’s problemsWhile a friend narrates his problems to you, if you use words like ‘yes’ or make sounds like ‘mmmm’, he will know that you are paying attention to his stories. This technique is extensively used in counseling.

*.Repeating works back to the speaker and mirroring their body languageIn a conversation, if a person is talking and the other repeats the words back and mirrors the body language of the speaker, then that puts the speaker at east and gives him the signal that he need not fear the listener.

*.Psychology can help reduce terrorismLisa Logan, a self-defense instructor taught her students to study the psychology of the attacker to understand how to overcome them. Using psychology to pinpoint how the attacker thinks can reduce the likelihood of an attack happening. This can be applied toterrorismand terrorists. If security forces understand the psychology of the terrorist attacking them, they will be able to reduce the probability of a terrorist attack happening.

Psychology can be applied to everyday life in many ways. The three main ways Psychology applies to my life is through motivation and emotion, Stress and health and Psychological therapies. These topics of psychology are the ones that best describe my life. When most people think of psychology they think of therapists and psychological disorders. Psychology is much more than that and applies to everyone’s life in some form. The first way that Psychology applies to my life is the Motivation and Emotion part of it. Motivation is what drives you to conduct some type of activity. For example if someone is thirsty then they have to get up go somewhere …show more content…
The next way that psychology applies to my life is through Stress and health. Stress is the way we feel and respond to something this is challenging or presents a danger to us. An example of this would be if you need over a 90% on a final to keep an A in the class you would respond by being anxious and might not sleep the night before the test this is stress. The way stress relates to health, the current state of our body, is stress can increase heart rate and blood pressure and many other aspects of our health. Also over a long period of time someone under massive amounts of stress could eventually collapse under the pressure and stop functioning. About one year ago I was in a really bad car accident I flipped a full size truck about 4 or 5 times going about 50 miles per hour down the road. I was about 30 minutes from any town and once I called for help I waited for 40 minutes for anyone to get there to help me and it took close to an hour for the ambulance to arrive. While I was waiting there all I had on my mind was I was going to die. My left eye was completely swollen shut and my right arm had about a 6 inch gash and was bleeding everywhere. The amount of stress I was under was immense.
