To find :

The numbers so that after they are filled in the boxes , they fulfill all the equations .

Solution :

Let four variables be e , f , g and h .

In clockwise direction ,

e + f = 8    ......(i)

f + g = 8     ......(ii)

h - g = 6      .......(iii)

e + h = 13    .......(iv)

by solving the equations (i) and (ii) , we get ,

→ e = g  

using e=g in (iii) and (iv) , and solving it

h = 9.5

and , g = 3.5

as e = g , then , e = 3.5  

putting e = 3.5 in (i) ,

f = 4.5

e = 3.5 , f = 4.5 , g = 3.5 and h = 9.5 clockwise from top left corner according to viewer .
