Two electrons cannot occupy the same state..State is nothing but a set of informations about the the particle..e.g imagine you are inside a room with it’s centre being origin of an imaginary coordinate system you associate to ot which makes sense to you. Now you can be anywhere you can track it e.g. you can say to get my position someone has to go these many steps up or down from the origin and then these many steps to right or left… So associating these numbers to your physical position gives your state.. If you were an electron and you have only position and no other degrees of freedom then you and your twin never can avail the same place..
Now as you know electron has other degrees of freedom like spin,flavors sometimes… So they have little bit more options. E.g. if two electrons spin projection is different they can avail the same place.
