To find the greatest rational number we need to make all denominators equal.

LCM of 7,28,14,42= 84

Hence on equalising the denominator,the rational numbers become

-11/28= -11*3/28*3=-33/84

-5/7= -5*12/7*12= -60/84

-9/14= -9*6/14*6= -54/84

-29/42= -29*2/42*2= -58/84

Since-60<-58<-54<-33

Hence, -60/84<-58/84<-54/84<-33/84

Or, -5/7<-29/42<-9/14<-11/28

Hence the greatest rational number is -11/28
