So, this recent story about 'Echo and Narcissus' just won my heart.

Here's the story:
Echo was a talkative and quite extroverted nymph. She was a good storyteller too. One day, when the wife of Zues went down the hill to find her husband. She stumbled upon Echo and asked her if she has seen her husband around. Echo, as being of that talkative nature began to tell her about everything but the location of Zeus. The Goddess weren't from the ones who would appreciate her chatting, so, she gave echo a curse. She cursed her that she would only be able to say the words that are said to her. Goddess said to her, "Leave me, you nymph". Echo fell to her knees and asked for mercy and forgiveness but all she could say was, "Leave me, you nymph." Echo began to wander. She wandered and wandered untill one day she saw Narcissus. Narcissus was a handsome hunter that was pursued by other attractive females too but he never fell for anyone. Nymph fell in love with him at the very first sight but she could not say anything except the words said to her. So, she waited for the right moment. And that moment came. Narcissus stopped at a lake where he saw his own reflection in the water. He said to himself, "What a beautiful face!". Echo repeated the same words from hiding behind some big rocks. Narcissus then said, "I love you". Echo repeated the same words. Narcissus tried to touch his own reflection but as soon as his fingers touched the water, his reflection faded away. Narcissus became desperate and fell into the lake to find his own reflection. Echo tried to stop him but she could only say, "I love you." Echo became bereft. The legend says, Echo still lives in every cave and mountain and hence we hear the 'echo'. And, the place where Narcissus last sat, near the lake, grew a flower that bended down towards the lake just to see it's own reflection. Guess what the flower is called? 'Narcissus'.

One of the famous Greek myth: The story of Icarus and Daedalus.

Daedalus worked as an artisan in Athens having skils of Talus. On that period, there was a moment of rage and jealousy. Daedalus pushed Talus off the rocks of Acropolis but failed to kill him. Then Goddess Athena turned the apprentice into a bird and Daedalus was forced to seek refuge on crete and also charged with murder.

Once on the Island of Minotour, Daedalus started his new beginning by working in the palace of King Minos. After that he married to a slave named Naucrate who gave birth to Icarus.

One day Daedalus got an order from his king Minos to build a new place able to contain the Minotour. Instead of doing that he thought that a complex labyrinth would be the best place to hide the monster and it was really a perfect construction where if those entered would never able to leave.

But the Minotour was an secret place to most of the inhabitants of that island. For that the king locked up Daedalus and his family so that this secret wouldn't reveal.

Daedalus cunningly planned how to escape that didn't require on going through land or sea but by flying. He started gathering some feathers from birds which later transformed into a pair of wings stucked with wax, out of which one was for him and the other was for his son Icarus. Daedalus warned his son that not to fly too close to the sun on the time of escaping but Icarus didn't listen and he went close to the sun where the wax on his wings melted and he fell down on the sea.

The end.....

Moral: never be overconfident, submissive and humble else it will lead to failures and death.

Hope u like the story....^^
