Answer:

All living things are composed of cells. So cells are the level of organization that carries the genetic information to tell what organism it came from. Any cell in my body has my DNA in it, so it’s a cell from my body, not yours or a dog’s or a guinea pig’s.

In plants and animals such as ourselves, cells are organized into tissues, and the tissues are organized into organs.

Some living things are single cells. Cells can have structures inside them such as a nucleus, mitochondria, and, in plant cells, chloroplasts. Many cells have fibers or filaments inside them, too, such as actin filaments. Then we are learning about other organized structures inside cells that are a bit like oil droplets in water, because there’s no membrane around them, like for the nucleus, mitochondria, and chloroplasts. We used to think of cells as ‘bags’ of ‘cytoplasm,’ which was a gooey substance without much structure. Now we know that there are tiny organized structures throughout the cytoplasm.
