What is the format for diary entry?

Diary is an informal piece of work created by writing about memorable moments, random thoughts and special activities. Being informal, there is no formal method of writing a diary entry. One can use any style, any format to bring forth his/her ideas. Nevertheless, some basic points may be observed while filling out an entry:-

Begin with Date, time and the place. Mention this before starting out as it would help you to remember the scene when you read your diary in future.

For example:-

9 August 2016

8:00 pm

Hyderabad

2. Start writing. And mind you, in any way you like. People like to begin in a conversational tone like Hello Diary. However you are free to choose. Choose any style. Just stay natural. Do not use flowery language, or jargons, euphemisms if you are not comfortable

3. Content. The interesting part is you may write about anything- a daily activity, festival, some special memory. You may put down some tidbit of information or enter in philosophical mood writing about some random thoughts, causes, consequences.

The diary is yours. It reflects you and should be such that whenever you read it, you feel transported to the particular day. Do not write each day’s monotonous activities if you don’t like.

Happy writing!

Thanks for the A2A.
