➡Not Marble Nor the Guilded Monument : William Shakespeare ⬅
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

◾ In this sonnet , Shakespeare describes the power of literature and the sheer futility of human pride . He wrote the sonnet parsing one of his close friends. According to him , Literature and written material is eternal that stays in heart and cannot be destroyed.

◾Even Time , the greatest of all ; With oblivious Enmity towards all cannot destroy written material . Commonly , the kings and princes get statues and monuments erected in their memory so that they are remembered always but these are reduced to dust by the ravages of time .

◾ Shakespeare says that this poetry makes his friend eternal ; remembered till posterity. he shall be remembered till Doom's Day . Thus, the poem conveys a beautiful message that human pride in materialistic things is Futile as time destroys everything..
