Intensive subsistence agriculture is a type of agriculture which has the following features-

1) It is practiced on small patches of land

2) It requires lot of manual labour

3) It uses irrigation

4) It uses many biochemical inputs

5) There is enormous pressure on the land as land size is small but farmers want to extract as much as possible from it.
