● Goa is between Maharashtra and Karnataka. Konkani is the language of Goa which is very old, older than both Marathi and Kannada but it does not have its own script and it uses devanagari or Kannada script. The northern part of Goa has many similarities to Maharashtrian life style and the southern part of Goa is influenced by Karnataka. However, people of Goa are again a mixture of different cultures having been under the rule of Portuguese before independence and retain their separate identity.

● Hope it helps you✌❤

Answer:

AS GOA WAS THE PART OF MAHRASHTRA

The referendum offered the people of Goa a choice between continuing as a union territory or merging with the state of Maharashtra and the majority chose the former. On 30 May 1987, the union territory was split, and Goa was made India's twenty-fifth state, with Daman and Diu remaining a union territory.
