Indigenous Andaman Islanders inhabit the more remote islands, many of which are off limits to visitors.

The Andaman and Nicobar islands are a cluster of over 500 islands out of which only 38 islands are inhabited. The Netherland islands are known as Andaman Islands and the southern islands are called Nicobar Islands. They are separated from each other by the ten degree channel.
