tell that,
in 3rd shell there are 18 electrons according to 2(n*n).
2(3*3)=18.
but there are only 8 electrons in 3rd shell of calcium.
why this?
explain briefly. ​

outer most only have 8 electrons only the previous shell is completely filled.
