When the object is at Infinity:-

The image formed is behind the mirror at focus(F), virtual and erect and highly diminished(much smaller than the object).

When an object is placed anywhere between pole and infinity:-

The image formed is behind the mirror between pole and focus, virtual and erect and diminished.

Hope it helps!

Answer:

To find either of position of image or object or focus we can use formula

 = &gt; \frac{ \mu_{2} }{v} - \frac{ \mu_{1} }{u} = \frac{ \mu_{2} - \mu_{1} }{</em><em>R</em><em>} \\ \\

where μ2 is the refractive index of lens and μ1 of surroundings.

Note: we have to use sign convention

Explanation:

Nature and position of image at different postion of objects

Object : at infinity

Image : at focus

Nature : Real ,inverted and highly diminished (size).

Object: between ∞ and 2F

Image : between 2F and F

Nature: Real,Inverted and Diminished(size).

Object : at 2F

Image : at 2F

Nature : Real ,Inverted , Equal (size).

________________________

Object : between 2F and F

Image : between 2F and ∞

Nature : Real , inverted , Enlarged(size)

Object : at F

Image : at ∞

Nature : Real ,inverted ,Highly enlarged(size)
