ashoka was one of the greatest ruler.who succeded bindusara.
he appointed mahamantras to collect taxes( only this much change he made)
he founght famous Kalinga war.which change his life forever.
although ashoka won the war but it had a far reaching consequences on him.
the people of Kalinga suffered the most.
