Two specific examples that keep jumping to the forefront of my mind is when the lie is preventing pain and suffering or the lie is used to prevent the perpetuation of evil.

Can telling a lie be justified?

⇒ Under certain situations, YES!

Depends on the situation. Nobody is honest, everyone lies , the only thing that’s different is whether they lie to themselves or others.

Lying to others can be good if its for their betterment. But if u are lying to yourself then its bad. You are harming urself. You are stopping urself from growing.

So, what I would suggest is that be true to urself. Truth can be hard but its good to know. The thing about truth is that when its served on the plate, only few people like its taste.

however of the most common motives from telling lies,are avoiding punishment ,justify ourself .other typical reasons including protecting others from harm , maintaining privacy ,avoiding embarassement . the liar and the authorizing agent beleives that lie is justified , necessary to do the job . typically the liar does not feel guilty about telling an authorized lie . lies are the ones where justification becomes a question . the consequences are not as simple as they might seem. lying is never ethically okay , yet it is done on a daily basis and is therefore more widely accepted by various people . generally, lying should be avoided , but there are many situations where it is justified . Instinctive lies , are usually ok because it is part of human nature of to instinctively lie to protect ourselves . however , planned lies, like storries that you make up on the right or false ideas that you think of before expressing them should never be allowed . as an adult you hope to avoid the consequences of your actions . the one is the result of a strong sense of morality
