Temperature generally increases the energy in a substance. We have noticed that when we heat water it changes its state from liquid to gas. What do you think will be the effect of heat on a metal that is a conductor?

a) A metal will turn into a good conductor.

b) A metal will turn into a bad conductor.

c) No effect on the conduction of the material.

Answer:

B)

Explanation:

On increasing temperature, the kinetic energy of the free electrons on the conductor increase and they start colliding which increases the resistance.

Hence the conductivity of the conductor decrease.
