Given  :   Ten cells each of e.m.f. 2 V and internal resistance 0.01 ohm are joined in series to provide a supply to a resistance of 10 ohm.

To Find :  The current in the circuit is

1. 1.98 A

2. 19.8 A

3. 2.00 A

4. .02 A

Solution:

  Ten cells each of e.m.f. 2 V and internal resistance 0.01 ohm

=> Total emf = 10 * 2V = 20V

Total internal resistance = 10 * 0.01 = 0.1 Ω

a resistance of 10 ohm.

Hence Total Resistance = 10 + 0.1  = 10.1 Ω

I = V/R

current in the circuit  =  20 /10.1  =    1.98 A
