let \: the \: present \: age \: of \: son \: is \: x \\ and \: father \: age \: is \:  \: y \\ according \:  \: to \: question \\ 10 \:  \: years \: ago \\ the \: age \: of \: his \: father \: y - 10 \\ the \: age \: of \: his \: son = x - 10 \\ according \: to \: question \\ y - 10 = 12(x - 10) \\ y - 12x =  - 110.....(1) \\ 10 \: years \: after \\ y + 10 = 2(x + 10) \\ y - 2x = 10.....(2) \\ from \: (1) \: and \: (2) \: we \: get \\  - 10x =  - 120 \\ x = 12 \\ put \: the \: valu \: of \: x \: in \: (2) \: then \: we \: get \\ y = 34
