There are different ways of sorting out any misunderstandings or dealing with difficult situations. However, doing so in a polite, respectful and even loving manner is undoubtedly the best way out as the following reasons will prove.

Whenever there is a disagreement, people tend to lose their temper. At such a time, it is crucial for at least one individual to keep calm. With a decrease in levels of aggression, there is a possibility of becoming more open to listening to other points of view and then eventually finding a solution.

Being tender also means being patient towards the other person. Thus, if an individual has behaved in a way that is hurtful to another person, the latter has a choice of either being angry or patient. An angry approach might trigger more aggression, while being patient will help improve matters. It will allow each one to speak their mind without unnecessary interference. An effective resolution or conclusion can be reached only when both the parties participate in the discussion.

Also, keeping one’s mind cool allows an individual to think clearly. If one is worked up, the chances of thinking rationally decrease drastically, thus cutting the person off from clarity of thought altogether. It may even give rise to a biased attitude, which is not helpful in conflict resolution.

Additionally, though it is extremely challenging to remain composed during an argument or dispute, doing so helps an individual retain his dignity and self-respect. Someone indulging in violence and bad language will earn a bad reputation that he might not be able to get rid of easily. Being tender helps adults behave in a mature way, thus preserving their dignity.

The abovementioned reasons indicate that handling a situation tenderly is in the best interest of everyone.
