Given

2 {x}^{2}  + x - 6 = 0

To find

Value of x

Solution

2 {x}^{2}  + x - 6 = 0 \\ 2 {x}^{2}  + 4x - 3x - 6 = 0 \\ 2x(x + 2) - 3(x + 2) = 0 \\ (x + 2)(2x - 3) = 0 \\  \\ (x + 2) = 0 \\ x + 2 = 0 \\ x =  - 2 \\  \\ (2x - 3) = 0 \\ 2x -  3 = 0 \\ 2x = 3 \\ x =  \frac{3}{2}

Ans. :

x = - 2 OR x = 3/2
