BODMAS

3 \times  \frac{1}{8}  + 1 \times  \frac{5}{6}  =

 \frac{3}{8}  +  \frac{5}{6}

after taking the LCM as 24

 =  \frac{(3 \times 3) + (5 \times 4)}{24}

 \frac{9 + 20}{24}   \\  \\  =  \frac{29}{24}
