For such questions, it's better to do according to BODMAS!

Here, addition and division are the operations seen. So division must be done before addition.

∴ 8x + 8y ÷ 8

⇒ 8x + y

I'm recommending you not to do left to right calculation and to write 'x + y' as the answer. It's absolutely wrong.

If you won't trust my answer, give some values for 'x' and 'y' as examples and do it in calculator. The answer will always be according to BODMAS.

E.g.: let x = 3 and y = 7.

When we do left to right calculation, we get 10.

(8 × 3) + (8 × 7) ÷ 8

⇒ 24 + 56 ÷ 8

⇒ 80 ÷ 8

⇒ 10

But when we do it in a calculator, we get 31. Because, that's BODMAS!!!

(8 × 3) + (8 × 7) ÷ 8

⇒ 24 + 56 ÷ 8

⇒ 24 + 7

⇒ 31

Hope this helps you. Please mark it as the brainliest.

Thank you. Have a nice day. :-))
