QUESTION :-

Mass of metal piece is measured. The successive reading are 2.63g, 2.56g, 2.42 g, 2.80g. The mean value is

A) 2.31 g

B) 2.62 g

C) 2.14 g

D) 2.21 g

ANSWER :-

We have to find the mean value of the mass of the metal piece according to the given data ( reading ).

We know the formula :-

mean \: value \:  =  \frac{sum \: of \: no.of \: observation}{total \:  \: no.of \: observation}

Now,

Using formula - -

Mean \:  value =  \frac{2.63g +  2.56g +  2.42 g +  2.80g}{4}

mean \: value \:  =  \frac{10.41}{4} \\ mean \: value \: \:  = 2.602

Hence,

After rounding off of 2.602 g we get,

Mean value = 2.6

So, Option (B) 2.62 g is correct one.
