The Napoleonic Code is also called the "French Civil Code of 1804" defined the concept of equality before the law and also secured the right to property.
It was ne the most important code of that time as it ruled out privileges to people that were based on the birth , allowed freedom of religion and stated that only the most qualified would be entitled for the government jobs.
