DESCRIPTION : The chloroplast which can be found in plants is actually absent in animals. This chloroplast contains a greenish pigment called as Chlorophyll which helps in photosynthesis by which green plants make their own food. They are autotrophic. We lack this substance, chlorophyll and we cannot prepare our own food ourselves. Photosynthesis takes place in plants (generally, green plants) only. We are heterotrophic.
