Given:-

  • Radius of a circular orbit in which an artificial satellite is moving is 42250km.
  • Hours it takes to revolve around the earth is 24 hours.

Need to find:-

  • Speed of the satellite if it takes 24 hours to revolve around the earth.

 \huge \mathtt { \bold{ \purple{SOLUTION:-}}}

As we know that-

 \large{speed =  \frac{distance}{time} }

As the satellite is moving in a circular orbit

Therefore,the distance = Circumference of the orbit

We know that,

Circumference = 2πr

where, r= radius =0

π = 22/7

According to question

Radius = 42250

Putting the value of r in 2πr

We get circumference-

 \large \implies{ \frac{2 \times 22 \times  42250}{7}}

 \large{ \implies{ 265571.42km}}

Putting the value in S = D/T...

We get,

Speed,v =265571.42/24

Speed =11065.4km/h

Converting into km/s.

 \large \implies{ \frac{11065.4}{60 \times 60  } {kms}^{ - 1}}

 \large \implies{3.07{kms}^{ - 1}}

Therefore,

  \small\boxed{\mathtt{ \orange{speed \: of \: the \: satellite \:  = 3.07{kms}^{ - 1}}}}
