Answer:

 \fbox \red {Case study of Vajji (Vrijji)}

The Vajji (or Vrijji) mahajanapada was a republic or gana Sangha.It was located to the north of Ganga, extending into the foothills of the Himalayas,and included parts of modern day Nepal.Its's capital was the city of Vaishali.

Vajji was ruled by a Confederacy (union) of eight clans.The republic was governed by an assembly consisting of representatives of the eight clans.The chairman of the assembly was called as the ganapramukh.But the ganapramukh position was not hereditary-it was like that of a chief rather than that of a king.

Hope it helps!!
