Let

present age of son be x

Then

present age of father is 35 + x

After 5 years

Age of son x + 5

Age of father (35 + x) + 5 = 40 + x

According to Question

40 + x = 2 (x + 5)

40 + x = 2x + 10

40 - 10 = 2x - x

30 = x

Son's present age 30 years

Father's present age 30 + 35 = 65 years
