Answer :

Kidney is a bean shaped main excretory organ in humans (mammals). It filters blood and remove harmful wastes in form of urine. Nephron is it's functional and structural unit. Nephron is a tube like structure which is about 3 cm long and has 20-60 micrometre diameter.

Functions of Kidney :

• It helps in regulation of water and electrolyte balance.

• It helps in osmoregulation.

• It helps in acid - base balance.

• It helps in arterial pressure.

• It's main function is excretion of metabolic waste.

✓ If Kidney stops filtering the blood, poisonous substances will accumulate in the body. This poisonous substance is Amonia.

Liver converts amonia into urea and kidney removes it in form of urine. If kidney fails to work then urea from blood can't be excreted out and again get converted in Amoina which is highly toxic for human body.

Thanks !!!

Here's , Your Answer :-

=) Kidney is a bean shaped human organ . In adult humans it's about 11 cm in length . Kidney secretes hydrogen,  ammonium, potassium and uric acid .

If kidney stop filtering the blood , poisonous substance will accumulate in the body and that substance is "Ammonia" .

Liver converts ammonia into urea . Kidney removes ammonia from our body in the form of urine . If kidney fails to do this work then urea from blood can't be excreted out (waste material) and again get converted in ammonia which is very toxic and can even kill the person .
