Explanation:

Let's say that,

Smaller and longer side of the rectangle are x and y

According to the question,

→ Diagonal = 3 times x

Or,

∴ Hypo. = 3x

Using Pythagoras theorem :

→ (3x)² = x² + y²

→ 9x² = x² + y²

→ 9x² - x² = y²

→ 8x² = y²

→ √8x² = y

→ 2√2x = y

Now,

Forning in ratio,

→ x : y

→ x : 2√2x

→ 1 : 2√2

Required answer:- 1 : 22
