Let’s take consumption=100,Price=100(initially).

So total Expenditure=100*100

After 30% increase in price ,Price will be 130 & Let’s take consumption X now.

If expenditure has to be same as before than

Final expeniture=Initial expenditure

X*130=100*100

=>X=76.92

So reduction in consumption should be 100–76.92=23.08%
