In 1995, former Polish President Lech Wałęsa paid a visit to Chile to partake on a conference titled Solidarity and Peace in the New Millennium.In March 2000, Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek paid an official visit to Chile becoming the first Polish head of government to visit the country. In 1999, President Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle became the first Chilean head of state to visit Poland.
