solid copper sulphate does not conduct electricity, but when we dissolve it in liquid it does. ... Copper sulphate is an ionic compound. The conduction of electricity is due to the ions in the ionic compound. When copper sulphate is dissolved in water, the ions dissociate and conduct electricity.
