- With heating, melting, erosion, deposition and chemical action, one group of rocks leads to the formation of another group and this cyclic formation and development of three types of rocks is known as Rock cycle. Igneous rocks are after weathering and erosion break down into sediments which are deposited and compacted to form sedimentary rocks. After being subjected to great heat and pressure, igneous and sedimentary rocks are transformed into metamorphic rocks. In a separate cycle, sedimentary rocks may be buried and melted to form magma. Metamorphic rocks may be broken down into sediments forming sedimentary rocks and can also form magma. Thus, a cyclical relationship exists between the three rocks group.

Answer:
Explanation:The rock cycle is a concept used to explain how the three basic rock types are related and how Earth processes, over geologic time, change a rock from one type into another. Metamorphic - These rocks form as existing rocks are subjected to intense heat and/or pressure, usually over long periods of time. ...
