4. They are asking the zero of the polynomial i.e polynomial must get zero when a certain value of x is applied to it.

p(x) = 0

ax + 1 = 0

x = -1/a

Option D is the answer

5.

x + y + z = 12

 {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  +  {z}^{2}  = 16

 {(x + y + z)}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  +  {z}^{2}  + 2(xy + yz + xz)

By applying the given values,

 {12}^{2}  = 16 + 2(xy + yz + zx)

144 - 16 = 2(xy + yz + zx)

xy + yz + zx = 64

Option C is the answer
